Resiliency through Needs Satisfaction in the Era of Coronavirus

Needs is the first step to “Dealing with Coronavirus: Cultivating Resilience”, because all our behaviors are geared toward the satisfaction of one or more needs. Do you know what are the needs that you are expecting to be met at home, with your family, at work and with your friends? Do you know to what degree you are currently meeting the needs of those around you? A successful and happy person is capable of finding a sustainable way to meet her needs and is also mindful and actively involved in helping others meet theirs. To increase resiliency, it is critical to formulate a need-satisfaction plan and monitor its progress consistently. As individuals our collective needs are met, the perception of life and work changes from “getting by” or “just a job” to a calling. The final goal of this workout is self-realization or the highest potential an individual can achieve. We will end the session with a Q&A.

Session 3: Exploring your Values in the Era of Coronavirus

Values are universal and are shared by all human beings. Individual values are mixed in unique ways and influence our decisions, from a routine task to a strategic choice. All positive organizations, starting from families, know their most important shared values as they represent the backbone of their “code of ethics.” Values shape and define every aspect of a person and of a team. They also embody what each and everyone of us stands for. Hence, living a life in alignment with our values is essential to build resiliency. Values workout facilitates the process of letting go of those values imposed by society to embrace individual’s authentic values. When this happens, you, your close ones, and your colleagues are increasingly satisfied, creative, engaged, and committed to your communities.

Session 4: Harnessing your Talents and Skills in the Era of Coronavirus

Most of the individuals I met at seminars and presentations admit that, generally, they do not make use of their talents while at home or at work. Actually, talents are often repressed or forgotten as they don’t fit their job description. As a consequence, we spend hundreds or thousands of hours learning competencies that are unrelated to our talents, so that they can fit in specific roles and help us perform a number of required tasks. This model does not work any longer as it does not take into account the natural gifts and abilities everyone possesses. Positive organizations, including happy families, are committed to linking the individual and team experience with the talents of every member and, in doing so, they strengthen their passion, enthusiasm, and resilience. This workout involves custom tailoring individual competencies around the individual’s talents to make sure that they are aligned toward the community’s mission and purpose. As new competencies feed each member’s natural gifts, the community is in a better position to formulate and implement projects aimed at the collective wellbeing.
