Session 6: Power of your emotions in the Era of Coronavirus

Decades of research have demonstrated that emotional intelligence is significantly more important than intellectual intelligence to achieve personal and business success, leadership, and sustained happiness. When practiced experientially, the power of emotions increases empathy, fosters deeper connections, reduces conflicts, and boosts teamwork. This workout entails learning a new language, the language of feelings, which requires the ability to connect to our own body and understand and subsequently manage the physical expressions of the emotional self. As we practice on ourselves, we will be able to better detect and understand the emotions of others and connect with them through the language of feelings. Science suggests that when we connect heart to heart instead of head to head, problems and conflicts are solved quickly and effectively.

Imagination is the core element of our evolution. Is a problem solving tool and the foundation of innovation. There are thousands of scientific publications, especially in the fields of medicine and sports, demonstrating that imagination affects performance and improves wellbeing. Ellen Langer, a senior psychologist at Harvard, has spent over four decades demonstrating that when we use the mind to imagine what has not yet occurred, the body will take us there. If it works in fields like medicine and sport, why don’t we use it in all aspects of our life? If we want to create something new, a better life after COVID-19, the only way to go there is by practicing imagination. The goal of this workout is to revitalize the right side of the brain, the one in charge of senses, creativity, and intuition. This workout will guide you to express your potential and intention, going beyond the schemes and limitations imposed by others, to feed creativity and innovation.
